Speakeasy Studios is a private recording facility designed to create and produce music. It has been active for over 8 years and it has been the home for important recording projects such as Ricky Martin’s latest album, The Lonely Island’s billion viewers You Tube phenomena YOLO and of course the last 5 albums of Italian icon Vasco Rossi who is a founding partner of the studio.
It resides in a 1930 actual Speakeasy in the beautiful Hollywood Hills in Los Angeles, California. The Speakeasy Rooms back in the time of alcohol prohibition were private lounges where people would get together to secretly drink and party. Evenings were often filled with music of live bands and once in a while they were raided and closed by authorities.
A state of the art control room features a 32 channel MCI JH-636 Custom board and massive vintage design outboard gear, microphones and musical instruments together with the latest digital converters and ProTools technology.
This room inspired and recorded artists of the international caliber including the above mentioned Ricky Martin, The Lonely Island and Vasco Rossi and also Club Dogo, Elisa, Negrita, Robbie Wyckoff from Roger Waters’ band, Gregg Dulli, Tiromancino, Doyle Bramhall II, Sister Cristina, Alejandra Guzman to name a few. We also had the pleasure to guest here producers and personalities such as as Eddy Kramer, Joe Chiccarelli, Daniel Lanois, Jose Luis Pagan, Claudio Guidetti and of course 6 degrees of… Kevin Bacon!
